Mt. Kilimanjaro Climbing
MOUNT KILIMANJARO CLIMB - MARANGU ROUTE - 7 DAYS
Day 1 Depart for Namanga border town, continue to Arusha for lunch after immigration formalities. Afternoon at leisure in Arusha. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.
Day 2 Drive from Arusha to Marangu gate. The climb starts at Marangu gate through the fascinating rain forest to Mandara hut at 2744m (9000ft) Meals and overnight at the hut.
Day 3 After breakfast climb through Alpine Meadows the altitude starts to be felt. Enjoying the Flora and view of Mamwenzi peak, Horombo Hut is reached at 3167m covering 12km from Mandara. Meals and Overnight at Horombo Hut.
Day 4 After breakfast resume the climb. The landscape becomes rugged and rocky. Giant groundsel and Lobellas appears. Kibo hut is reached at 4732m at the base of the peak itself
NOTE: No water or firewood is available after this point.
Day 5 Hours of the morning at 2:00am. It takes about 5 hours to climb the steepest and most difficult part of the route to Gilman's point 5,681m (18640ft). From Gilman's takes 1.5 to 2hrs to Uhuru Peak 5,896m (19340ft). Descend to Horombo for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 Descend is rapid. After breakfast, walk down the Marangu gate for transfer to Arusha. Dinner and overnight in Arusha.
Day 7 Transfer back to Nairobi or proceed to the next destination.
Machame Route (8 days/7 nights)
Day 1. Nairobi/Arusha/Moshi
Depart Nairobi by morning shuttle to Moshi arriving late afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2. Machame Hut
Drive to Machame Village. The climb begins at the end of the tarmac road, walking for about 6 hrs gradually ascending through the forested hills onwards to Machame Hut (3000m). Dinner and overnight.
Day 3. Shira Hut
Early in the morning, you will cross a valley and stream before ascending a steep ridge. The path then drops into a river gorge before you climb more gently onto the moorland of the Shira plateau - 3,800m. Total climbing time is about 6hrs. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4. Barranco Hut
The path continues directly up the ridge towards Kibo, then turns right and descends into Barranco gorge. Climb to Barranco hut at 3940m shortly after. Total climbing time is about 6 hrs. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5. Barafu Hut
Crossing the Barranco Valley, climb the Barranco wall (not technical climbing), then follow the Kibo South Circuit. You will then turn left and climb up a ridge for about 2 hrs to Barafu hut at 4,600m . Dinner and overnight.
Day 6. Mweka Hut
Very early start for the summit first to Stella Point and then Uhuru Peak at 5895m. After sunrise, descend down to Mweka hut, which takes about 6 hrs. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7. Mweka Gate
This is the last day of your climb. You will descend to Mweka Gate where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8. Arusha/Nairobi
Depart Moshi by morning shuttle back to Nairobi arriving approx 1830hrs.
KILIMANJARO CLIMBING - RONGAI ROUTE : 4 NIGHTS / 5 DAYS
Day 1
Drive to Kilimanjaro National Park Gate at Rongai. The climb begins from the attractive wooden village of Nale Moru (1950m). The track then starts to climb consistently, but gently, through attractive forest that shelters a variety of wildlife, including the beautiful Kilimanjaro Colobus monkeys. The forest begins to thin out and the first camp is at the edge of the moorland zone (2600m) with extensive views over the Kenyan plains of Tsavo and Amboseli taking 3-4 hours. Day 2
The morning walk is a steady ascent up the “Second Cave (3450m) with superb views of Kibo and Eastern icefields on the crater rim. Passing the second cave we reach the 3rd cave at 12000ft/3800m for overnight camp taking 3-4 hours. Overnight camp 3rd Cave
Day 3
Continue ascending on the east side of Kibo crossing the lunar desert of the “Saddle” between Mawenzi and Kibo taking 4-5 hours to reach Kibo hut at 15000ft/4700m.The remainder of the day is spent resting in preparation for the final ascent before a very early night! Overnight at Kibo
Day 4
A long day and an early start for the summit on steep and heavy scree up to Gilmans Point at 18640ft/5681m on the crater rim to arrive in time for sunrise. The descent to Kibo is surprisingly fast and, after some refreshment, continue the descent to reach the final Hut at Horombo taking 11 hours approximately. Overnight Horombo Camp

MT. KILIMANJARO CLIMBING - SHIRA ROUTE 5 NIGHTS / 6 DAYS
Day 1
We drive to the trailhead at Lemosho Glades and start our trek through the rain forest. The flora and fauna are richer here than on the other more popular routes through the rain forest, you continue walking about 3-4 hours, we reach our camp in the rain forest at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree). Overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp
Day 2
After breakfast, we start the climb cross the remaining rain forest towards the giant moorland zone, a beautiful valley just outside the Shira Crater at around 10,000 ft. After lunch, we cross into the Shira Caldera, a high altitude desert plateau that is rarely visited. Shira is the third of Kilimanjaro volcanic cones, and is filled with lava flow from Kibo Peak.Today you will get your first close views of Kibo - the dramatic summit of Kilimanjaro. Stay overnight at Shira One Camp
Day 3
On the eastern side of the valley, across the stream is the Barranco Wall - a 950 ft. barrier of volcanic rock. Although it is tall and looks steep, it is very easy to climb. The views from the wall are nothing less than magnificent. The rest of the day is spent skirting the base of Kibo peak over our left shoulder. We descend down into the Karanga Valley, where we rest up for the night before the tough climb up to Barafu.
Day 4
First thing, you will be making a steep hike out of the valley. The air starts getting quite thin, and you will be running short of breath. It is a tough, but rewarding uphill to the rocky, craggy slopes at the camp. Stay overnight at Barafu Camp
Day 5
Early morning from the Crater rim, rugged Mawenzi Peak is a thrilling sight, with the Kibo saddle still in darkness beneath you, and the crater's ice-walls looming ahead. We now continue to Uhuru Peak (1-2 hrs.) This is the highest point in Africa, and the world's highest solitary peak (19,340 ft). It is the best view in Africa! Descend down to Mweka Camp for overnight
Day 6
Descend down to Mweka gate
